The **SAMOSPAS Rope-Descent Fire-Fighting Device** with automatic speed control allows the **derrickhand** to be evacuated from the platform outside the derrick/mast area in case of fire or uncontrolled well flow (blowout).

Drilling rigs must be equipped with a device for the emergency evacuation of the **derrickhand** in the event of an emergency, in accordance with safety regulations in the oil and gas industry.

In an emergency, the **derrickhand** only needs to attach the safety carabiner to the chest attachment point of the harness, and they are ready for evacuation! The preparation process takes mere seconds, which, in an emergency, is a decisive factor along with the reliability of the emergency evacuation device. The descent speed is regulated automatically (does not require worker participation) and is 1 meter per second.
